Faith Club

Nurturing Faith, Character and Purpose Through Knowledge

At Qalm Academy, our Faith Club is at the heart of everything we do. Inspired by the meaning of Qalam (قَلَم) – the sacred pen through which knowledge and destiny are written – our Faith Club reflects the responsibility, discipline and honour of seeking sacred knowledge with sincerity and purpose.

We provide children with a strong spiritual foundation, while nurturing confidence, character and self-discipline in a calm, supportive environment. Our approach is holistic, recognising that children learn best when they feel relaxed, safe and understood, and that growth includes spiritual, emotional, social and academic development.

We also take a screen-free approach within our sessions to support deeper focus, reduce digital overstimulation, and encourage more thoughtful, “old-school” learning habits in an age of constant distraction.

Where Faith Club Fits Within Our Services

Faith Club runs as part of our wider provision and may be delivered within our After School Club and Homeschool Provision, depending on your child’s schedule and age group. If you’re unsure which option is best, get in touch and we’ll guide you.

Our Faith-Centred Approach

We believe faith education should be:

  • Calm, not pressured
  • Structured, not rushed
  • Meaningful, not memorised
  • Nurturing, not intimidating

Our experienced teachers help children understand what they learn, not just recite it, encouraging both spiritual growth and personal development.

What We Nurture

Through our Faith Club, children develop:

  • Strong Islamic moral values
  • Deepened Islamic understanding
  • Spiritual confidence and identity
  • Discipline, respect and responsibility
  • Self-confidence and emotional strength

These values support not only religious growth, but also positive behaviour, resilience and academic success.

Subjects Covered in Our Faith Club

Our structured Faith Club curriculum includes:

  • Qaida – Building strong foundations in Arabic pronunciation
  • Quran – Tajweed, fluency and recitation confidence
  • Hifz – Quran memorisation with consistency and care
  • Fiqh – Practical understanding of Islamic rulings
  • Seerah – Learning from the life of the Prophet ﷺ
  • Arabic Language – Reading, writing and comprehension

All lessons are delivered at an age-appropriate level, with progression tailored to each child.

A Calm, Child-Centred Learning Environment

Faith education at Qalm Academy is delivered within:

  • Small class sizes
  • A calm and respectful atmosphere
  • Positive encouragement
  • Clear structure and routine
  • Strong safeguarding and care

This creates a safe space where children feel confident to ask questions, develop spiritually, and grow with clarity and purpose. We recognise that children develop at different speeds, and we adapt our approach based on age and stage so learning remains engaging and achievable.

Age-Appropriate Support That Reflects How Children Learn

Children’s learning needs change as they grow. Younger learners may benefit from shorter, varied activities and more repetition, while older children often have a greater ability to focus for longer and explore ideas in more depth. We also recognise that different children respond to different approaches, so we teach with care and flexibility to help every learner feel confident and included.

Prayer & Ablution Facilities

We have dedicated ablution and prayer facilities on site. This supports students in maintaining their daily worship and helps reinforce a God-conscious mindset while they are in our care.

Communication With Parents & Carers

We believe strong outcomes come from a shared approach between the child, the family and the educator. Student engagement and progress are regularly discussed with parents/carers, so you always feel informed and supported.

Who Is the Faith Club For?

Our Faith Club supports:

  • Children at early learning level
  • Primary-aged learners
  • Secondary-aged students
  • Beginners and advanced learners

We welcome all children regardless of current ability and gently support them on their spiritual learning journey.

Safeguarding & Policies

Safeguarding is central to everything we do. Our safeguarding and complaints policies are available to view on request, and will also be published on the website.
